We are going to write on topics of interest to people who are concerned about Christianity, and in particular Baptists. I am one. I have been a Baptist since I was born into the Body of Christ at the age of eleven years. I was born into a Baptist family, but that is not what made me one.
We will write of things such as baptism, the Lord’s Supper, the Cross of Jesus, the shed blood of Jesus, the burial, the resurrection, and the Second Coming of Jesus. There also will be articles concerning whether some of the spiritual gifts have ceased or if they continue; such as tongues, healers, prophets – in the sense of foretelling the future, and whether there is any other word from God other than what we have in the Bible.
There will also be articles concerning the Bible, which is the Word of God. Any one is welcome to stop by, leave a comment. Please when leaving a comment, be kind, non abusive, Christian in your conduct, no cursing, and any that I deem to be contrary to these will be immediately deleted.
Thank you for stopping by.

/ September 3, 2011Please explain what you mean when you say that you were “born into the Body of Christ.”
Thank you
Tim A.
/ September 3, 2011Ike, Thanks for visiting All Things Baptist, and leaving your question. One is born into the body of Christ by being born again; not a physical birth, but spiritual. It is a reference to a change of heart and life; a work of the Spirit of God in a life.
John 3:1-23 probably explains this.
I was birthed spiritually into Christ at the age of eleven years. I was born physically into the Baptist family I spoke of.
Thanks again.

/ September 5, 2011Thank you for your answer. I am confused. What is the “Body of Christ”?
Tim A.
/ September 6, 2011Ike, The Body of Christ, are the people who are born again, we represent Christ on earth, though poorly at times.
One is born again by believing in the precious work Christ did while he walked among men while he was here. Believing He is the Son of God who came, born of a virgin, living a sin free life for the glory of God the Father, being obedient unto death of the cross, being buried, and on the third day coming out of the grave alive; and He still lives, and is returning some day.
Jesus Christ loved the world [you and me] so much that He came and gave His life for us (John 3:16).
In short the body of Christ are those who believe Him.
Thanks for your question and I pray it has been a help. If you need to know anything else let me know. If I cannot answer it I will let you know that too.

/ September 9, 2011So, the “body of Christ” is an entity that consists of all believers of all ages in all places at all times? I don’t get it. I just can’t seem to get my brain around such a concept. It makes no sense to me. I think of a body as being confined to one place at one time. Are you really sure the Bible teaches such a thing? Does such a body really exist? Can such a body function? Can it assemble? Can it have any discipline? Can it evangelize? Can it teach? I need a better answer than “all things are possible with God.”
Thanks, -Ike

/ September 9, 2011Ike, I do thank you for your interest, and all things are possible with God. We are, however also dealing with the eternal and spiritual. The Body of Christ is best seen in a local church. A Church where the Word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed, Jesus Christ is worshipped as Lord and Savior, and the members of the Body of Christ love and care for one another, do evangelism, teaches the Word of God, etc. The Body of Christ is manifested throughout the world in many local churches; of course we will all become one in Christ when we are all called home to be with Him.
In order to better understand this; a person needs to first trust and believe in Jesus Christ, then it will make much more sense.
